Bohol, Philippines

It has been like 4 years since I've been to Bohol. We traveled from Cebu by boat. We chose that means of communication sice it's really cheap. It was a 4hour trip. There were no beds in the boat, so you wont have a chance to lie down. You would have to sit for 4hours. It's actually just a small boat, a ferry boat. So to kill the boredom and of course time, we just talked during the trip. I was with my friends and my girlfriend. After we arrive in Tubigon(a town in Bohol), we rode a bus going to Tagbilaran(the capital city of Bohol) for two hours. There we looked for a hotel to stay overnight since we'll be going home by tomorrow. After checking in, we looked for a restaurant to eat dinner but we ended eating in a barbeque resto. The food was good but of course, its nothing compared to the barbeque of Cebu. After that we decided to drink at Bohol's pier. It was really nice there. We did some karaoke as well until we got drunk and went back to the hotel to sleep. I think it was about 1am when we slept.

Around 5am there was a knock on the door, it was our guide. He was asking that we chould get ready because we will be leaving to begin our Bohol tour. I was still tipsy when i woke up. We ate our breakfast and then looked for a vehicle that we could that we could use for the trip. We ended renting a mini van for P2000.

The first stop was the Sandugo Site. We stopped there for about 15 minutes to take photos.

The next stop was the famous Baclayon church. Baclayon Church is the oldest church in Bohol, dating back to 1596. The Baclayon Church in Bohol is a monument in the history of the Philippines. It is a must-see tourist spot. It was really nice.

After that we visited the biggest Bohol Python Snake! - one of the longest (23 feet or 7 meters as of 2005) and heaviest (300 kg or 660 lbs) python in captivity. This snake is the pet of a small women who lives in Bohol in the Philippines. I was like whoa this looked scary.

Next, we went to this swimming pool near chocolate hills. There we had our lunch and went swimming for an hour before going to the famous Chocolate Hills.

The Chocolate Hills are probably Bohol's most famous tourist attraction. It is composed of around 1268 perfectly cone-shaped hills. The world-renowned cone-shaped Chocolate Hills is Nature's expression of beauty, mystery and romance. This tourist spot could be found in Carmen, Bohol. To take advantage of this beautiful scnery, we took a lot of pictures there. I fell in love with the beauty of that place.
That made me apreciate the true wonder of mother nature.

After Chocolate hills, we decided to go tarsier seeing. Going there we passed by the Bohol forest. The Bohol forest is a man made mahogany forest in a two-kilometer stretch of densely planted Mahogany trees located in the border of Loboc and Bilar towns. Loboc is well known for their floating restaurants. But we never had the chance to try it out because of the limited budget and time. so went directly to a Tarsier Sanctuary. The Philippine Tarsier is one of the smallest primates on earth. The tarsier - or 'world's smallest monkey' was rated the planet's cutest animal in 1997.

The next stop was the famous Panglao Island. It was the most beautiful beach I have ever been. The white sand, it was perfect. I've been to Cebu beaches but nothing compared to that beach. The beauty of Panglao Island Nature Resort is an ideal vacation spot from the mess of the metropolitan environment. Starting with the white sand beach and of course the welcoming people. If you want sun, sand and sea, I strongly suggest this place.

The last stop was the Hinagdanan Cave. Hinagdanan Cave is a cave on Panglao Island, in Bohol Province, in the Philippines. It is a naturally lighted cavern with a deep lagoon and many large stalactites. Ceilings dripping with stalactites, Hinagdanan Cave is a marvel in stonework. Its underground pools with their limestone bottoms glimmer. This particular one sported a cool freshwater spring where local children enjoyed swimming activities. When i was there i was a bit scared to go on swimming under the very dark water of the underground pool of that cave. Many people said that many have died on that pool. Even the fear that I felt during that time, it did not stop me from jumping on that pool and tried swimming for just 10 seconds. i don't want to regret myself for not trying it.

After that was going back to the pier. We decided not to take the same route we have taken when we were on our way to Bohol. So we bought tickets for the trip. Still we travelled through boat. But this time it was a big boat. The travel time was about 6 hours to cebu.

it was a hell of a trip. It was really wonderful to be able to go to Bohol. I spent only P3000 and i was able to visit a lot of tourist spots. I got drunk. I was able to swim. I was able to go nature tripping. It was fun. The good thing about the tourist spots in Bohol is they dont charged you for the entrance fee, they would only ask for donations. So guys, summer is near, if you want some fun with a limited budget, better try going to Bohol, Philippines.
